Two noisy AC in the room
Saying the staff was unfriendly is being too kind. They were at times just nasty.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
It took a while to check in. There was a lot of activity with interruptions. This however seemed to be more Brazilian than specific to the hotel.
The best thing about the hotel was the location. It's one block from Copacabana Beach.
Although the lobby looks updated and contemporary the rooms are not. The linens are rather old and I think I was given a smoking room because there was an odd odor in the room. Also, the breakfast really isn't that great. The quantity is more than abundant, but it just doesn't taste that great.
i hate the stay at this hotel but all the people were good.Juliana, Rodrigo and other gentlemen. totally its a bad experience for me during all 5 days at this hotel.
location is good, booked a room expected to have "sea view" but actually had to stick your neck out of the balcony to see the sea.
air conditioning was noisy, hotel is a bit run down could do with refurbishement
swimmingpool is really small
4 Stars?it's like a 2 Star! - Staffs very rude and arrogant - Very poor quality Breakfast - ugly old furniture with spiders - AC noisy - you cannot bring girls in your room !!! they are crazy !!! very bad bad bad hotel !!!
The internet at the reception is for free.
In short: don't go there!!! It is like a prison. The whole building should be demolished. The rooms are dirty, the employees too. Some receptionists are very unpolite, sometimes arrogant and rude. The hotel manager observes the guests from everywhere through cameras, no surprise that he has no time for the hotel. The bedspread was ragged, the window looked to the dirty walls of the neighbouring buildings. The airconditions of the surrounding buildings were so loud that we barely could sleep. Sometimes a weird noise came from the outside and the whole room started to resonate to this. The breakfast is one of the wirst I ever ate in a hotel. We saw cockroaches in the breakfast room. Oh, and I was bitten by a bug (flea?) in the bed.
Good hotel with perfect location on the corner to Copacabana
The worst lobby personnel I have seen in many years (I travel every week!). Not a smile during the whole visit from a crew of 5 people. No goodbye / thanks when we left. What ever we discussed with them, we were always wrong. It is a pity since this hotel is perfectly located and has a good standard. I do not recommend this hotel! Too small breakfast lounge for the size of the hotel. Very crowed.
The room was pretty old and not well kept. The staff was not really helpful and the fee had to be paid fully in advance, unlike other hotels.
We stayed on the 15th floor and had a great view of copacabana and sugar loaf. The roof top pool whilst small was enough to cool you down and the views from there were even better. Whilst expensive, for copacabana it was very reasonable for the service/facilities on offer and would definitely recommend this hotel. If you are able to request a balcony room I would definitely give it a go as we did.
The air conditioning unit was very loud so couldnt have it on whilst sleeping!
The hotel was fine. Too expensive for what we got, but fine. Location is wonderful, its right by Copacabana. Staff seemed just incompetent, breakfast was fine. The pool looks way nicer on the pictures. Rooms as well fine, but not a standard for that price.
A couple of things: Our room wasnt ready at the promised time, and the staff of the Hotel didnt seem to want to help. This was just extremely annoying. The staff just seemed rude, and couldnt handle all their costumers at the time. The first impression was, to be honest, awful.
Location is good yet the hotel is run down and not worth money what you will smell it right away.
Smell of an old building in need for update.
The only thing that was good at Oceano Copacabana was the location (close from the beach)
The client service was poor (for such expensive prices they could at least have people speaking english at the reception). The toilet had very bad smell during my whole stay, No remote for the air conditionning, beds were unconfortable. Internet not working correctly(Hotmail and facebook did not work during my 4 days staying). Spot lights in the room worked sometimes and sometimes not.
